That’s why we are passionate about promoting initiatives such as Veganuary that encourage individuals to make more environmentally friendly choices with their diet.


Veganuary is an annual challenge run by a UK nonprofit organisation that promotes and educates about veganism by encouraging non-vegans to try out the vegan lifestyle for the month of January. It was started in 2014 as an attempt to change public perception on veganism and to provide advice and support those prepared to give it a try.

So, if you have been pondering the idea of giving the plant-based diet a go, January is the perfect time. A month of new beginnings, New Year’s resolutions and doing better for yourself and the planet.

Vegan Meat Alternatives

People try Veganuary for a whole host of different reasons. From improving personal health by incorporating more fruit and vegetables in their diet to concern for animals and their welfare. And of course, to help the environment as veganism is now widely understood to reduce carbon footprint.

Recent studies have even suggested that veganism is the ‘single biggest way’ to reduce our environmental impact on earth.

Researchers at the University of Oxford found that cutting meat and dairy products from your diet could reduce an individual’s carbon footprint from food by up to 73 per cent.

And according to PETA animal agriculture causes an estimated 18 per cent of all greenhouse gases!

To get yourself inspired why not watch some documentaries or invest in a new plant-based cookbook. Find some recipes you love and that will be easy to implement in your everyday life.
