Our Top Tips: The Perfect G&T
Cheers to International Gin & Tonic Day
Often highly regarded as a versatile spirit, gin makes a wonderful base for many cocktails. Including the national favourite: The humble G&T.
How To Make The Perfect G&T
Choosing your favourite Gin for your G&T is just one part of the equation. To enjoy the perfect G&T you’ll have to start with your favourite glass. The right glass will not only look and feel beautiful but will also enhance the nose to take in the stunning fragrances from your Gin.
The right amount of ice.
Fill your gin glass almost completely full with ice. The more ice, the longer your G&T will stay chilled.
This is entirely up to personal preference, but as a rule of thumb we suggest using a quarter of your favourite gin followed by three quarters of your favourite tonic.
Then add a slice of lime to garnish. Top Tip: Roll the lime to release the juice before cutting.
There is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ choice of G&T combination, it is all down to personal preference. But we thought we would share our favourites to provide a little bit of inspiration for your own creations.
Bombay Sapphire is a classic, popular gin with a distinct floral fruity character with a tang of citrus and warming spice. That pairs beautifully with the Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water in our stunning MM Living Malta Wine Glasses that feature an intricate textured design with a row of ‘bobbles’ towards the rim.
Sipsmith London Dry Gin is a traditional, bold and complex gin with tart citrus, and floral overtones. Why not try with Fever Tree Premium Indian Tonic Water in our Un-bee-lievably beautiful Joules Bee Wine Glasses, crafted from pressed glass and featuring buzzy bee motifs.
Silent Pool Gin is a rich, juniper-driven spirit with floral layers of lavender and chamomile and is best matched Fever Tree Elderflower Tonic Water. A perfect concoction to go in our divine Olly Smith Charm Gin Glasses, crafted beautifully from crystal glass and made from pulled stem technology.
Tanqueray London Dry Gin has clear and poignant juniper aromas with a light spice. You can pair this with the Fever Tree Aromatic Tonic Water in our gorgeous Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew Recycled Stemmed glasses. Made from 100% recycled glass and finished with an etched logo to make it that extra bit special.
